What Tesla has shown so far.
Robotaxi is Tesla’s driverless ride service, and Cybercab is the car Tesla built for it. Here is what Tesla has said publicly.
From Model Y to Cybercab
Tesla started its Robotaxi ride service in Austin in June 2025 using Model Y cars with a Tesla safety monitor on board. Tesla says it has since started rides with no one in the car and expanded to Dallas and Houston, then to Miami, Orlando and Tampa here in Florida.
A car with no steering wheel
Cybercab was first shown at Tesla’s We, Robot event in October 2024. Tesla says production started at Giga Texas in April 2026, and on September 3, 2026 it began offering Cybercab rides in limited areas of Austin. It uses cameras and Tesla’s self-driving software, and Tesla has said it is designed for wireless (inductive) charging.
What Tesla has said about price
In 2024, Elon Musk said he expected Cybercab to cost under $30,000 and to run for roughly 20 to 40 cents a mile. Tesla has not announced a final price or a date for selling Cybercab to the public.
What Tesla has said about expansion
Tesla has said it plans to add more cars and more cities over time. It has not given firm dates, and every new area depends on local rules and approvals.

What a fleet car needs.
A driverless car can drive many more miles a day than a personal car, so wear items come due sooner. These are the areas we expect to cover as parts and information are available.
Scheduled maintenance
Brakes, fluids, filters, suspension and 12V checks for cars that drive far more miles than a personal EV.
Tires and alignment
Rotations, replacements and alignments to keep high-mileage fleet cars safe and efficient.
Cleaning and detailing
Interior and exterior cleaning between shifts, so riders get a clean car every time.
Cameras and sensors
Cleaning, inspecting and replacing cameras and sensors, and making sure they are calibrated after any repair.
Collision repair
Body and structural repair through our sister shop, Alset Collision, a Tesla Approved collision center in Nokomis.
Fast turnaround
Quick check-in and priority scheduling, because a car in the shop is a car not earning.

Robotaxi questions
Can I bring you a Robotaxi or Cybercab today?
Not yet. Tesla runs its Robotaxi fleet itself and does not sell Cybercab to the public today. We plan to offer fleet service if and when owners or fleet operators in our area can use outside shops.
Is Alset Services authorized by Tesla to service Robotaxi or Cybercab?
No. Alset Services is an independent shop and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tesla. What we can do will depend on the parts, tools and information available to independent shops.
Do you work on Teslas now?
Yes. We already service Teslas and other EVs, including battery and BMS repair, diagnostics, tires and alignment, A/C and camera calibration.
