Regular maintenance
What your Model S needs, and when.
EVs skip oil changes, but tires, brakes, filters and the A/C still need attention. Here is what Tesla recommends, and what we check.
Tire rotation
Every 6,250 miles, or sooner if tread depth differs by 2/32 in or more

Wheel alignment
As needed
Check if tires wear unevenly, the car pulls, or after suspension work or a hard curb hit.
Brake inspection
Inspect regularly
Tesla does not give a fixed interval for pads and rotors. Regenerative braking means pads usually last a long time.
Brake caliper cleaning and lubrication
Every year or 12,500 miles where roads are salted in winter
Florida roads are not salted, so this usually does not apply here. We still check caliper slides during brake inspections.
Brake fluid test
Health check every 4 years, replace if needed
Tesla notes heavy braking (towing, mountain descents, performance driving) may call for more frequent checks.
Cabin air filter
Every 3 years on current models
Earlier model years may list a different interval. We check the schedule for your car's year.
HEPA filter
Every 3 years

A/C desiccant bag
Depends on model year
Tesla's service manual lists every 2 years for 2012–2020 Model S without a heat pump. We follow the schedule for your car.
Wiper blades
Every year
Sooner if they streak or chatter. Florida sun is hard on rubber.
12V / low-voltage battery
Test regularly, replace as needed
No fixed interval in the manual. The car alerts you when it needs service; we test it at every visit.
Air suspension
Inspect regularly
On cars with air suspension: check for leaks, compressor noise and ride-height faults. No interval in the manual.
Intervals based on manufacturer guidance. Where Tesla gives no specific interval, we say “inspect regularly” or “as needed”. Your vehicle’s own manual and app reminders take priority, and intervals can change by model year.
